While based in Lapeer County and a sub-division of the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office, LCSAR assists communities across the state when requested by law enforcement. The team is comprised of professionally trained volunteers that strive to execute well planned searches to locate lost or missing persons, alive or deceased, both in urban and wilderness environments. Constant training and skills practice are conducted to maintain this ability.
Lapeer County Search and Rescue (LCSAR) was formed in 2018 as a sub-division of the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department. LCSAR is a non-profit 501(c)3, all volunteer, non-law enforcement unit, operating as a sub-division of the Reserve Mounted Unit, at no cost to the county, nor to those that it assists. As a 501(c)3 corporation, we are supported through grants and public donations. Your donations are always welcome and are tax deductible under federal law.
